Safety is our top priority for all that participate with us at any of our events. We cannot stress this enough. Here are our safety guidelines for all that participate with us.

  • Children should not run in camp and especially not around the campfire.
  • Absolutely NO smoking of pipes, cigarettes, cigars, etc upon the field of battle. Black powder is highly explosive.  Don't even bring smoking paraphernalia in your haversack, pockets, etc upon the field of battle.
  • Absolutely NO firing of side arms or long arms in camp.
  • Side arms and long arms will not be loaded in camp or upon the field of battle unless the scenario calls for it to be so. All side arms and long arms will be inspected daily by a designated safety officer.
  • We have children in camp and we must set a good example. Therefore, common sense should dictate to NEVER point a fire arm at anyone for any reasons whether they're loaded or not. We want our children to grow up into responsible adults.
  • Treat all fire arms, sabers, swords, bowie knives, etc with the utmost respect. They ARE weapons!
  • Upon the reenactment field of battle ALWAYS aim above the individual(s) and NEVER directly at them.
  • No one should climb around on the cannons, limber, or caisson under any circumstances.
  • NEVER, ever walk in front of the cannons upon the field of battle.
  • During the unloading and loading of cannons, etc off or onto trailers do not stand in front of or behind the wheels. Always stand to the side. It is also best that the children be kept away from this area.
  • At events when it is extremely hot and/or humid be sure to drink plenty of fluids. If you get too hot please let the NCOs or Officers know. We do not want anyone falling out from heat exhaustion.
  • Remember we do this for personal enjoyment and we want everyone to be safe at all times.
